Within the framework of the 2nd Open Day of the School of Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) (November 29, 2023), the AUTh SEG Student Chapter part of the School of Geology presented impressive samples from the world of minerals and rocks.
More than 300 people, mostly students, were informed by our members about the variety of minerals and rocks found in various regions of the planet, through samples from the collection of our Academic Supervisor, Professor Vasilios Melfos. Visitors also had the opportunity to discover how minerals and rocks contribute to the creation of products we use daily, from materials found in our homes to specialized alloys for spacecraft.
Additionally, it is our great pleasure that through this event, we had the opportunity to interact with students and researchers from other groups within the School of Sciences AUTh. We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the success of this event!
